LinkedIn

Reelwire posts on LinkedIn through Zernio, a posting service whose app LinkedIn has approved: LinkedIn lets an app post for other people only once it has reviewed it. You connect once, by signing in on LinkedIn itself; Reelwire never sees your password, and Zernio keeps the sign-in and renews it.

One platform covers your own profile and your company's Page: you choose which as you sign in. A post on your profile goes out as you, to your connections and followers; a post on a company Page goes out as the company, to the Page's followers. For both, make two channels and connect each.

Paid plans

Connecting an account through Zernio is part of the Individual plan and above, each of which includes a number of connected accounts: one on Individual, three on Small business and nine on Enterprise, unless your offer says otherwise. On Free, a channel on this platform is handed over by email or webhook.

What you need

  • A LinkedIn account. To post as a company, administrator rights on the company's LinkedIn Page as well.
  • The Administration permission in Reelwire, which connecting and disconnecting needs.

Set it up

  1. Choose the platform. In Channels, open the channel's Settings (or Add new channel) and choose LinkedIn as the Platform and the Aspect ratio.
  2. Connect the account. Under Handed over by platform connector, press Connect LinkedIn account. LinkedIn's own sign-in opens in a new tab. It names Zernio, the service Reelwire posts through.
  3. Sign in and choose who posts. Sign in with your own LinkedIn account and allow posting, then choose your profile or the company Page this channel posts to.
  4. Back in Reelwire. A Reelwire page says the account is connected, and the dialogue you left open shows Connected: and the profile or Page within a few seconds, with the connector switched on. You can close the tab.
  5. Press Save (or Create for a new channel). Only then is the account kept on the channel; closing the dialogue before asks whether to save.
  6. Test platform connector, at the foot of the section once the account is saved, asks Zernio whether it can still post, posting nothing, and shows the answer under it.

Nothing expires for you to renew: Zernio renews the sign-in itself.

What a post looks like

  • The video on your profile or the company Page, with the text as the post: the post's own words, the brand's line, the link and the hashtags, fitted to LinkedIn's 3,000 characters.
  • LinkedIn processes a video after it arrives; it may show as processing for a minute in the feed.

Changes and take-downs

  • Send update request on Posts changes the text of a post the connector made. The video stays as it was posted: to replace it, send a delete request and post it again.
  • Send delete request takes it down on LinkedIn, and the post then reads Deleted.
  • Visibility and Allow comments under Posting settings are not applied by the connector: the post goes up public, with comments open. Change either on the post in LinkedIn where you need to. Connections only exists on a profile alone, since a Page posts to everybody who follows it.

Disconnect

Press Disconnect the account in the same section and Save: the channel posts nothing more on LinkedIn, and Reelwire disconnects the account at Zernio within the hour, unless another of your channels posts to it. To end the access completely, also remove Zernio from your LinkedIn settings, under Data privacy, Permitted services. Connecting it again is the same Connect LinkedIn account.

Shapes

A channel on LinkedIn renders 9x16, 4x5, 1x1 and 16x9, whichever you choose per channel. Its text is fitted to what LinkedIn takes.
