Commission and referrals
Every workspace owner is a Reelwire affiliate from the day they sign up, on every plan including Free. There is nothing to apply for: the Commission screen, under Referrals in the menu, holds your link, your code, your terms, what you have earned and everything you need to collect it. Only the owner sees it; a trial workspace has no Commission screen.
Your link and code
You hold two ways to refer somebody, and either one makes them your customer:
- Your link. Somebody who clicks it is remembered for 60 days, on every page of the website, so they can read around and sign up later. There is also a link straight to the checkout, for a button or an email that should go directly to buying.
- Your promo code. Typed at the checkout, or in the Subscribe dialogue on the Plan screen for somebody who signed up on the dashboard, under Have a promo code?. A code wins over a link: if somebody followed another affiliate's link and then types your code, they are yours.
Your link counts wherever the person signs up afterwards: at the checkout, or on the dashboard's own sign-up page.
Both are letters and digits, 3 to 16 of them. Press Change link or code to choose your own. The old ones stop working the moment you save, so change them before you share them.
Only new customers count: a workspace that ever paid for a subscription, even one now back on Free, or that somebody else already referred, cannot be moved to you. Referring yourself does not count either: a customer that looks like your own business (the same company email domain, your tax number, or a card your own workspace uses) is held for a check, and its commission is shown as Held for a check until Reelwire has looked. We email you when that happens and when it is decided.
Your terms
The standard terms are:

Commission is always a share of the net amount: what the customer paid for their subscription and extras after their discount, without VAT or other taxes. If they upgrade, your share grows with them. Money given back takes back the commission it earned, in the same share: a refund, a credit note or a chargeback. A chargeback Reelwire wins gives it back to you.
Reelwire can agree individual terms, a higher share or a longer period, with somebody bringing a large audience; ask through the contact page. When yours differ, the screen says so and shows your own percentage. Download the agreement (PDF) gives you the full affiliate agreement, filled in with your link, your code and your terms.
Earnings
The card says how many customers came through your link or code, then shows four figures, a chart and a table:
- Held for 30 days: earned, and waiting out the time a refund or chargeback usually arrives in.
- Held for a check: only while there is some: commission from a customer Reelwire is checking.
- Available: yours to request.
- On its way: in a payout you have requested.
- Paid out: everything paid to date.
The chart shows commission per month, with the number of new customers over each bar. The table lists each month, newest first: new customers, customers who paid, the net revenue, your commission, and where that money is now (held until a date, available, on its way, or paid on a date).
Getting paid
- Reach 75 EUR available. We email you when you do.
- Add your tax information, once. The Tax information card appears once what you have earned, held and available together, reaches 75 EUR. Press Add tax information and say whether you are a company, self-employed or a private person, give your legal name and address, any VAT or tax number that applies, and whether you charge VAT on your commission. Agree that Reelwire issues the payout statement for each payout on your behalf, and press Send for approval. You can also upload a supporting document (PDF, JPEG or PNG). Reelwire checks it, and emails you when it is approved, or what to change if it is not; the card says which.
- Request the payout. Press Request payout of the amount available. A single-use link opens in a new tab: give your PayPal address, twice, and confirm. The money goes to that PayPal account in euro. If the address has no PayPal account yet, PayPal emails it to claim the money.
The link works exactly once. If you close it before using it, press Collect payout in the table for a fresh one; the old link stops working. A link nobody uses expires after 14 days and the money goes back to Available. You declare and pay your own taxes on your commission.
Payouts and statements
The Payouts card lists every payout you have requested and where it is. Once a payout is paid, it has a payout statement: press Statement to download it as a PDF. Reelwire issues it on your behalf, from the tax information you gave, and it lists each payment you earned on (by customer number, never by name), anything taken back or corrected, and the total paid. Statements are numbered in one sequence.
If you close your workspace
Deleting your workspace ends the agreement: your link and code stop working, and payments made after that earn nothing. What you earned before then is kept and stays payable for 12 months: ask for it through the contact page, and Reelwire pays it to the PayPal account you name. After 12 months, whatever was not asked for lapses.
