Reelwire does not post on WhatsApp itself yet. Until it does, a channel on WhatsApp is handed over by email or by webhook, and posted from there.
Why not yet
As of September 2026: software sends on WhatsApp only through the WhatsApp Business Platform, with a business account Meta has verified, and only to people who wrote first or through message templates Meta approved. WhatsApp Channels have no way for an app to post. Rather than set that up the same way for everybody, we look at it with each customer who asks.
Post meanwhile
Every channel on WhatsApp can do what every channel could before the connectors:
- By email. Switch on Handed over by email in the channel's Settings, and a person posts from the post kit: Post a video by hand, Let your AI assistant post it or Post through a posting service.
- By webhook. Switch on Handed over by webhook there, and a system of yours posts it, with nobody in between: Post through the platforms' APIs, Let an AI session post it or Post through a posting service's API.
Shapes
A channel on WhatsApp renders 9x16, 4x5, 1x1 and 16x9, whichever you choose per channel. Its text is fitted to a caption of 1,024 characters, which is the post's short description with the brand's line and hashtags.
