The dashboard
Reelwire turns things that happen into posts. The shape of the product follows that sentence:
- Content arrives. From a feed you subscribe to, from your own systems over the API, or from a post you write by hand in a post list.
- It is drawn into a clip. A template decides what the video looks like; your brand decides the colours, type, logo, sound and the legal line at the bottom.
- It is handed over. When it is due, after approval where you have asked for it: by email to you, to post yourself, or to your webhook, for your own system or a posting service, as each channel says. Reelwire posts nothing itself.
Everything on the screen is one of those three steps, or the evidence of them.
Where things are
The menu on the left groups the screens by what you are doing:
- Overview: Posts, where every post stands, and Schedule, when your channels are expected to post.
- Library: Templates and Media, what a clip is drawn through and the files it uses.
- Publication: Brands, Channels and, on Enterprise, Syndication.
- Content sources: Feeds, Manual post lists and Custom feeds.
- Connections: API keys, Webhook and Received.
- Performance, on Enterprise: Analytics, how your posts did, and A/B tests, which version of them did better.
- My account and Subscription: Your profile, Team and Plan, allowance and billing.
You see only the screens your plan and your permissions open. You land on Posts when you sign in.
Ready in the first minute
A new workspace is not empty. It starts with Default brand, already dressed with a logo, a presenter badge, a background, an outro, a headline font and a soundtrack from your media library, and Default channel, handed over by email, wearing that brand and listening to Default post list and Default stream. Write a post in Default post list and it becomes a video that is emailed to you, with its text ready to paste, without setting anything up first.
Setting up, in order
When you set up your own accounts, the pages below are in the order somebody meets them.
- Brands. The look your clips wear. A channel cannot be made without one.
- Channels. One account, one platform, one language, one brand.
- Webhook. The webhook address a channel with Webhook switched on hands its posts over to. A channel handed over by email needs nothing here.
- Templates and Media library. What a clip is drawn through, and the files it uses.
- One of the three ways content arrives: Feeds, Manual post lists or Custom feeds.
Then the screens you read rather than fill in: Posts for where everything stands, Received for what arrived and made nothing, Approvals for how a person clears posts first, and Schedule for what is due.
Team, Your profile and Plan, allowance and billing cover who is here and what it costs.
The AI assistant is found wherever you add a file or write a text: it makes pictures, videos and fonts, and writes texts, with your own keys for the AI services.
Two things that trip people up early
A channel publishes only what it listens to. Making a channel does not make it post. Open it, press Sources, and add a feed, a post list or a stream. A channel listening to nothing renders nothing, and that looks exactly like everything being fine.
A brand is shared, deliberately. Editing one changes every channel wearing it at once. Press Used by before you save.
Talking to Reelwire from your own code
Everything the dashboards do, your own systems can do. See the API reference, and AI assistants for pointing an assistant at it.
