Quick start
Quick start, at the top right of every screen, walks you from a new workspace to its first post handed over. It shows every step at once, ticks each one as it is done, and takes you to the screen where the next one is done.
The button says how far you are, such as Quick start 2/4. Once all four steps are ticked it becomes a small compass icon, and stays there for whenever you want to look again. On a phone it is always the icon.
The owner of a new workspace sees it open by itself once, right after choosing the workspace's industries. After that it opens when you press it. It is shown to everybody with the Operations permission, since every step needs it.
The four steps
A new workspace is not empty: it starts with Default brand, Default channel, Default post list and Default stream, already connected (see Ready in the first minute). So the steps are about making them yours and giving them something to post.
-
Your brand. The look every clip wears: logo, colours, fonts, sound and the text that goes out with every post. The button opens the brand's Settings on Brands. Ticked once somebody has saved a brand, or made another one.
-
Your channel. Where posts go: the platform, the aspect ratio, the language, the brand it wears, whether a person approves each post first, and how posts are handed over (by email, by webhook or both). The button opens the channel's Settings on Channels. Ticked once somebody has saved a channel, or made another one.
Under it, Platform connector is optional and never counted. Where the channel's platform is one Reelwire posts to itself (Discord, LinkedIn personal, Slack and Telegram), the button opens the same Settings at its platform connector, which a person with the Administration permission fills in. Everywhere else, posts are handed over by email or webhook for you, an AI assistant or a posting service to post.
-
Your content. Where posts come from. Pick one of three:
- Ready-made feed: the button opens the channel's Add new source with Feed chosen, so you pick one of the feeds offered for your industries. Ticked once a channel listens to a feed.
- Write posts myself: the button opens Add new post in the post list your channel listens to, on Post composer. Ticked once that list holds a post.
- My own system: your software sends events to a stream with an API key. The buttons open Custom feeds, which shows the request, and API keys, for a person with the Administration permission. Ticked once the first event arrives.
You can add the other two later; the guide only needs one.
-
Your first post. While the first post is on its way, this step says where it is: rendering, waiting until it is due, waiting for approval, or being handed over. If it failed, it says why. Ticked once a post is handed over. Open Posts takes you to Posts.
It moves on by itself
When you press a step's button, the guide closes and the screen opens with the right dialogue already open. Do the step there and save. Once the step reads as done and you have closed the dialogue, the Quick start opens again by itself, with that step ticked and the next one open.
Every tick is read from your workspace, so it does not matter where a step was done: on its own screen, by a colleague, or through the API all count the same. You can do the steps in any order, close the guide at any time and open any step to look at it again.
Just want one video? The link at the foot of the guide opens Clip studio, which makes a clip straight from a template, with no channel and nothing posted.
